Under the project “Capacity Building in IECT Including Training in Digital Skillsets and Current Industry Demanding Technologies for Various Sections of Society in the NE States” by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, two programs were held simultaneously on 13th October and 14th October 2022 from 10 am to 2 pm at the College premises. This program was organised by IQAC, Mangaldai College & National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Guwahati. The one day awareness program “Cyber security & Emerging Technologies” for students was held on 13th October 2022 at Science Gallery and Library Extension Room. The awareness program for women on “Mobile Applications for Digital Payment, e-Governance Services, IT Applications & Cyber Security” was held on 13th October and 14th October 2022 at BioTech Hub of the college. The program was inaugurated with a welcome speech delivered by Dr. Santosh Borkakati, Coordinator, IQAC, Mangaldai College. He gave a brief about the various cyber threats and the need to implement security measures while using digital platform. Students were advised to be alert all the time more particularly while using smart devices, mobile apps etc. Dr. Saurov Mahanta, STO/ Cordinator-NECB-2.0 of NIELIT Guwahati gave a brief introduction of the program. He introduced the technical aspect of the programme with the objective to promote awareness & training on Digital Inclusion to common citizens like Farmers, Women, Elderly, School and College students. He also urged the different stakeholders of the society to take the free benefits of the MeitY’s ambitious initiatives by taking active participation. The vote of thanks of the inaugural program was given by Dr. Debashree Kakati, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Botany, Mangaldai College.
