A 16 days campaign on ending gender based violence against women and girls was organized by District Welfare Department, Darrang District. A rally was held on 12/12/2022 from 1 Am to 1 PM. 30 NSS volunteers from Mangaldai College participated in that rally. The rally commenced from DC office, Darrang to District Social Welfare office, Darrang. The main aim of the programme was to make the people aware about the violence committed against women and girls ni the society. A public awareness meeting was also organized at Sainik Bhawan, Mangaldai. Many officials from district administration and civil society were present in the meeting. The students were thought to respect everyone irrespective of their gender. The students especially the female students were urged to raise their voice of any violence act were committed on them or they ever seen happening of others. The programme was a success as it created a social awareness among the students.
