The NSS and the Youth Red Cross of Mangaldai College jointly organised an orientation programme on “Disaster Management and First Aid” for the volunteers of Youth Red Cross and NSS of Mangaldai College in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society, Darrang District Branch on 16th November 2021 at Mangaldai College. Mr. Issa Ram Nath, counsellor, YRC explained the need of the orientation programme in present context. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Govinda Upadhyay, Chairman, IRSC, Darrang district branch, Assam. The training was imparted by Mr. Jayanta Sarma and Laba Sarma, IRSC, Assam State branch. The programme gave training not only in first aid but also on various disaster management like flood, earthquakes.Dr. Manju Kalita, Associate Professor, Department of Philosophy and life member IRCS brought the awareness on the noble cause and philosophy of the Red Cross Society to the students. The programme concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Seema Jyoti, Counsellor,YRC, Mangaldai College. 50 volunteers participated in the event.
