A farewell function of Dr. (Mjr) Leena Saikia, Associate N.C.C. Officer (ANO) Girls Wing of Mangaldai College, has been organized by the 13 Assam Girls (I) COY, NCC, Tezpur on 25th March, 2023 in Science Gallery of Mangaldai College. Dr. Kamala Kanta Borah, Principal, Mangaldai College has graced the occasion as Chief Guest and delivered a lecture on the contribution of Dr. (Mjr) Leena Saikia in the upliftment of N.C.C. Girl’s Wings in Mangaldai College. Mjr. Hariman Deka, ANO, N.C.C BOYS, Dr. Santosh Borkakati, IQAC Coordinator were present in the event and delivered their thoughts.

Ten Days Bihu Workshop

A Bihu workshop was organized by Performing arts and cultural study center, Mangaldai college from March,14 to March, 23,2023. The trainees performed Bihu at the closing ceremony. The workshop was held over ten days and attended by more than 150 trainees. The workshop was trained by Raju Bezbaruah (Bihua), Rintu Deka (Dhulia) and Bhabita Deka ( Bihuwati). The principal of Mangaldai College Dr. Kamalakanta Borah, The coordinator of IQAC Dr. Santosh Barkakati, The workshop coordinator Mr. Chitra Ranjan Nath delivered a speech at the closing ceremony. There They formed a Bihu team of the college on the same day.

Biodiversity Survey and Tree Census

The Biodiversity Survey & Tree Census in Mangaldai College Campus started on 16-03-2023 under the initiative of IQAC, Mangaldai College. Inaugurating the event, Principal Dr Kamala Kanta Borah elaborated the biodiversity richness of the college campus and the importance of preparing a scientific record. Dr Santosh Borkakati, Coordinator, IQAC, mentioned that a Biodiversity Register Committee is formed with the faculty members from the Departments of Geography, Botany and Zoology with the mandate to prepare a scientific database of the biodiversity of the campus and maintain the database updated with time. Explaining the methodology to be followed in the survey, Dr Pranjit Kr Sarma, Convener of the Biodiversity Register Committee, showed that the 33 acres campus of the college is divided into 62 virtual Grids and demonstrated to the faculties and participating students how the data from each Grid will be mapped into the database.

Industry Expert Team from the Intel Readiness group, Guwahati centre provided theoretical and hands-on training to the students. All the participants were awarded with certificates at the end of the programme.
