Pests are undesirable organisms, such as insects that harm humans or human interests. Pests can damage, or destroy agricultural crops, food stores, gardens, human structures, clothing, and furniture, as well as negatively affect terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. There is a system of integrated preventive and corrective measures to reduce or prevent pests from causing significant harm to humans or the environment termed as Pest management. This course will allow the students to achieve knowledge about the pests and pest management methods that include using natural, biological, chemical, cultural, genetic, mechanical, physical, and regulatory controls.
