The department of Political Science of Mangaldai College is the pioneer department offering major course in Political Science in the undergraduate level since 1960s, in undivided Darrang district of Assam. The department of Political Science was established in 1962. Since its establishment this department has been serving as a centre of higher education and learning and thereby contributing a lot for promoting values harmony, peace, cooperation, democracy and citizenship in the society through academic practices. Aims and objectives of the department: The department Political Science aims to study different areas under the discipline of Political Science and promote research activities in the field of social science. The department tries to promote values of human right, democracy and qualities of good citizenship in the society. The department aims to develop values of morality, ethics, tolerance , peace, harmony , attitude of social responsibility and confidence building capacity among the students. The department aims to provide guidance to the students for appearing in different competitive examinations.
